Rooted Walk in Christ Within

Colossians 2:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Colossians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:6-7

Biblical Context

Receive Christ in your awareness, then walk from that inner reality. Let your life be rooted and built up in the faith, overflowing with thanksgiving.

Neville's Inner Vision

Colossians 2:6-7 is an instruction to inhabit a state rather than perform a ritual. What you have already received—the Christ within as your Lord—becomes the basis of every step you take. 'As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him' means you do not depart from that inner reality when you go about your day; you walk in him by living from the consciousness that you are now in the I AM. 'Rooted and built up in him' indicates your inner self has a fixed root in that divine reality and is continually built up by the imaginative act of faith. 'Established in the faith, as ye have been taught' points to a habit of awareness—teachings become living truths when rehearsed in the imagination until they are felt as fact. 'Abounding therein with thanksgiving' shows gratitude arises naturally from the awareness that your entire life is an expression of that inner Christ. When you align your attention with this inner state, your outer experiences rearrange to reflect it.

Practice This Now

Assume now that you are in Christ; feel the I AM as your real self for a minute, then carry that state into your day, thanking God for each outward form that aligns with it.
