Spirit Presence Beyond Absence

Colossians 2:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Colossians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

5For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
Colossians 2:5

Biblical Context

Paul says he is absent in the flesh but with them in spirit, rejoicing in their orderly conduct and steadfast faith in Christ.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your sense of separation is only a stage set. I am with you in spirit, because the one I AM is everywhere and is the only reality. When I behold your order and your steadfast faith in Christ, I am not looking at a distance; I am shifting my inner state to the same conviction that animates you. The physical absence of Paul or anyone else does not change the fact that consciousness is the field of life. By assuming the presence of the other in my inner vision, I celebrate the discipline and trust you exhibit, and I empower my own faith by reflecting it back to you. Faith, rightly understood, is trust in the Christ within; it does not rely on time or place. Therefore, I dwell in the feeling of unity with you and let the outward scene align with that inner harmony. Practically, your faith grows as you persist in the awareness that you and your brotherhood are one in the I AM.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are with them in spirit; affirm, I am with you in spirit, beholding your steadfast faith, and feel the unity of the I AM.
