4And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
Colossians 2:4

Biblical Context

Colossians 2:4 cautions you not to be beguiled by enticing words; persuasion can pull your attention away from inner truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the quiet seat of awareness, you are not moved by outward rhetoric. Paul speaks to your consciousness: beware the beguilement that lures with polished phrases, for messages only have power when you identify with the belief they stir. The world of convincing words is a dream image formed by your own attention; the constant I AM, your true self, remains untouched by such imagery. To overcome this, you must assume a new state and revise your inner sense until it feels real. Tell yourself that you are already in the truth you desire and that the seductive voice has no authority here. When you feel the pull of enticing speech, return to I AM, imagine that the end you seek is already established in you, and let the outer wordcraft fade into light. Your awareness is sovereign; by consciously choosing the end, you awaken to it and nothing external can override it.

Practice This Now

Impose a rapid, simple assumption: 'I am the I AM, unbeguiled by words.' Feel it as real for a minute, then observe how persuasive phrases lose their grip.
