Colossians 2:17

Biblical Context

Colossians 2:17 teaches that outward shadows and ceremonial laws point to future things, but the real substance is the body of Christ.

Neville's Inner Vision

Read Colossians 2:17 as a summons to shift your inner sight from signs to the living Presence. The shadows—the ordinances, feasts, and regulations—are the form that points to what is coming, but the body is Christ, not a distant event but your present awareness. You are not standing outside Christ to observe Him; you are the living embodiment of Christ as your I AM. When you identify with rules, you tether God to external time; when you identify with the body, you rest in the indivisible Presence that fills you here and now. The body within you translates as present experience: the sense of I expands into wholeness, courage, love, and clarity. The shift is not in changing commandments but in changing your identification—from shadow to substance. In every moment you can choose to dwell in that body, letting the light of awareness dissolve the shadows into the one reality: God is your I AM, and you are that I AM made visible as your life.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the state 'I am the body of Christ within me now' and feel that fullness as your present sensation. Revise any sense of separation or ritual as mere shadow, and rest in the living Presence.
