Shadow-Free Living Within

Colossians 2:16-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Colossians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Colossians 2:16-17

Biblical Context

Colossians 2:16-17 says stop letting others judge you by foods, drinks, holy days, or Sabbaths; these rituals are shadows of things to come. The body of Christ is the deeper reality within you.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Colossians 2:16-17 lies a doorway to the inner state you live from. You are not defined by outward feasts or prohibitions; those rituals are shadows that point to a reality you already possess. The I AM in you sees beyond the letter and recognizes the body of Christ as the living essence of your consciousness—the unity that is never subject to judgment. When you feel drawn to measure worth by meals, calendars, or Sabbaths, turn inward and align with the awareness that you are the temple where light dwells. The true covenant is the state of being awake to this unity, not the keeping of laws. In that awareness, the external doings lose their gravity and freedom becomes your natural atmosphere. The shift is not against law but into the realization that you are that body, here and now, perfectly united with the divine.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume you are the body of Christ within, and breathe I AM into every thought. Silently revise: 'I am free from judgment; I dwell as the body of Christ within, and ritual shadows have no power over me.'
