Inner Triumph of the Cross
Colossians 2:13-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Colossians 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Plain reading: you were spiritually dead, but you are quickened with Him and forgiven of all trespasses; the handwriting of ordinances is wiped out, nailed to the cross; and powers that opposed you are publicly defeated, as you triumph in Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
All the scenes in Colossians 2:13-15 are inner states, not distant events. You are the I AM, and in this moment you awaken to life by the realization that sin is a condition of consciousness, not a future sentence. When you truly feel that you have already been quickened with Him, every trespass dissolves, because forgiveness is the recognition of your unity with the divine. The handwriting of ordinances is the mental contract you once believed—laws, judgments, limitations—that kept you separate. Blotting it out and nailing it to the cross means you permit the old identity to die in your imagination, and you claim a new sense of self that stands in the light of consciousness itself. Having spoiled principalities and powers, you expose their impotence by the simple act of living from the truth of your being. The cross is not a place but a turning of attention: you turn away from lack and fear toward the realization that you are already free, and therefore you are free in fact, here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume: I am quickened with Christ; all trespasses are forgiven. See the old contract vanish and the cross of your awareness sealing it shut; feel your new identity rise, triumphant, here and now.
