Biblical Context
Colossians 2:12-15 speaks of burial with Christ in baptism, rising to life by faith, forgiveness of sins, and the overthrow of inner powers that oppress us.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine Colossians 2 as a manual for consciousness. When it says buried with him in baptism, that is your current alignment with a state beyond fear—the I AM that is aware of itself as one with the divine. Through the faith of the operation of God, you awaken to life you did not think possible, the kind of life that God, in your own awareness, raised from the dead of limitation. You, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, are quickened together with him; this is not future, but now: forgiveness flows inward, dissolving the charge it once held over you. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us represents the release from external rules as a moral weight; nailing it to the cross is the decision that no old contract of guilt governs your being. Then, having spoiled principalities and powers, you reveal their impotence by your present realized state, a public display of mastery over imaginary powers. The verse invites you to see, feel, and dwell in this triumph as your natural condition of awareness.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already risen and alive in your true I AM. Silently repeat, 'I am forgiven and free now,' and feel that the old rules and fears have no hold on you.
