The Inner Gaze Of Amos 9:8
Amos 9:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Amos 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God's gaze rests on the sinful kingdom, threatening destruction. Yet the passage promises that Jacob's house will not be utterly destroyed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beholding this, I see that the eyes of the Lord are the I AM within you, an ever-present awareness that surveys your life. The 'sinful kingdom' is not a ruler outside you but the habitual pattern of thought and belief within you. It must be moved by inner transformation, not by external punishment. When you realize the gaze is your own awareness, the 'destruction' simply dries up old, unlivable states; you are not annihilated, but refined. The 'house of Jacob'—your essential self and covenant identity—remains intact and redeemable. By practicing revision, you assume the state of the already-won, feel it real, and let mercy dissolve fear. Thus the outer world rearranges to match the inner alignment; redemption becomes a present act of consciousness, not a distant judgment.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the state of your complete being—free, beloved, and aware as the I AM. Say, 'The eyes of the Lord are upon my inner kingdom; I am saved,' and feel that mercy saturate every thought.
