Inner Prophecy Of Amos 7:10-11

Amos 7:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Amos 7 in context

Scripture Focus

10Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
11For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.
Amos 7:10-11

Biblical Context

Amaziah, Bethel's priest, accuses Amos of threatening Israel with his words; Amos proclaims that Jeroboam shall die by the sword and Israel shall be carried away captive from their land.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Amaziah’s accusation as a stubborn aspect of consciousness clinging to the status quo, doubting any bold inner declaration. Amos’ prophetic voice then becomes your inner state announcing a change: not a doom to be feared, but a clearing of the old self so a truer self can stand. The sword and exile describe the shedding of centres of power built on doubt. The land not bearing his words is the mind resisting the new conviction, until you restructure the scene by realizing you are the one who names your reality. When you accept that the power to foretell and fulfill comes from the I AM within, the sentence becomes a signal of transformation rather than punishment. The apparent external consequence dissolves as you embody a new state: a certainty that your words carry life, that you are not banished but brought into alignment with your divine order. In practice, see yourself as Jeroboam’s death and Israel’s captivity receding, replaced by your unshaken unity with the I AM and a fresh earth for your intention to reside.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume you are the I AM, speaking the new word now. Revise the doom as the old self dissolving, and feel the land embracing your words.
