Amos 5:9 Inner Reversal

Amos 5:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Amos 5 in context

Scripture Focus

9That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
Amos 5:9

Biblical Context

The verse depicts a divine reversal: the weak are strengthened to confront the strong, so the powerless approach the fortress.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the line as a parable of your own consciousness. The 'spoiled' are not victims but latent faculties within you—hope, desire, neglected truths—strengthened by the I AM against the apparent 'strong' forces of doubt and circumstance. When you conceive a state stronger than the fortress, when you assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled, the inner movement shifts. God, or I AM, strengthens the spoiled against the strong, not by outward battle, but by an inner alignment that makes the fortress crumble from within. The fortress is simply a fixed belief about lack, power, or control. As you persist in imagining the result as already yours, the inner 'spoil' asserts itself—the fear is confronted, the doubt challenged, the sense of limitation reorganized. The spoiled come against the fortress and win because you have chosen to dwell in the awareness that you are the I AM, the source of all strength. In this interior reversal, the outer world rearranges to accord with your inner state.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and imagine the weak rising to meet the fortress with calm certainty. Feel the I AM power within you, as if the desired state is already yours.
