Vineyard Wailing Within

Amos 5:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Amos 5 in context

Scripture Focus

17And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
Amos 5:17

Biblical Context

Amos 5:17 tells of wailing in every vineyard as the LORD passes through. It signals judgment and invites inner awakening.

Neville's Inner Vision

Amos whispers that in every vineyard of your mind there will be lament as the LORD passes through. The vineyards stand for your states of consciousness and your desires; the wailing is the resistance stirred when a new level of awareness is breaking in. When you hear 'I will pass through thee' as the I AM—the ever-present awareness within you—it becomes a gentle visitation, not external punishment. The divine pass-through is your own consciousness moving through old beliefs, revealing them to be mere thoughts rather than permanent reality. The wail is the old forms protesting as you claim a higher sense of being. If you persist in the assumption that you are already the state you desire, the passage becomes transformation: the curtain of lack, fear, or bitterness is drawn aside by the realization that you are the witness, the I AM that never leaves. The prophecy then becomes an invitation: return to your inner garden, and choose from the I AM’s vantage point. Your trials are soil tilled for a richer harvest, a return to wholeness within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Assume the desired state is already real and feel it fully; then revise a troubling thought by declaring, 'I am the I AM passing through this moment and transforming it.'
