Amos 4:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Amos 4 in context

Scripture Focus

12Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
Amos 4:12-13

Biblical Context

God announces that Israel will face Him and must prepare to meet their God. He is the Creator who forms mountains, summons the wind, and reveals human thoughts—the LORD of hosts.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Amos’s words, I answer: the God he names is the one who stands as the I AM behind all outward form. When he says, 'prepare to meet thy God,' he is inviting you to turn from outer events and enter the inner courtroom of awareness where you decide what your life will demonstrate. The mountains you see, the wind you feel, the night that follows the dawn are not separate enemies or favors, but signals of your own states of consciousness. The Lord’s form, the God of hosts, is your own awareness when you claim it as yours—when you know that form and thought and atmosphere are made by you in imagination. Darkness becomes morning as you refuse to accept limitation and instead dwell in the realization that you are the author of your circumstances. By aligning with the I AM, you cease seeking power outside and awaken to your internal sovereignty. In this light, the verse is not a warning but an invitation to remember that God’s action in your life is the natural movement of your inner state realized.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already in the presence of your inner God. Feel the I AM as your real self and dwell in that state until it becomes your immediate experience.
