Inner Tyre, Inner Covenant

Amos 1:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Amos 1 in context

Scripture Focus

9Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
Amos 1:9-10

Biblical Context

Amos 1:9-10 proclaims judgment on Tyre for delivering captives to Edom and neglecting the brotherly covenant; a fire will devour its walls.

Neville's Inner Vision

To read Amos as Neville would: Tyre is the state of consciousness clinging to external strength, while Edom represents a narrower self that would imprison others. The three transgressions become three habitual attitudes: neglecting unity, pride in walls, and breaking the covenant. The punishment is the inner correction that the cleansing fire brings, burning away structures born of fear and domination. When you awaken to the I AM within, the brotherhood covenant is remembered and you cease using others as means. The fire clears the self-imposed boundaries, leaving a unified consciousness. Thus you re-script your inner Tyre into a living reality of justice, righteousness, and wholeness, where unity and responsibility govern experience.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and feel Tyre as your inner stance; softly say, 'I remember the brother covenant now.' Revise the state by declaring, 'I am united with all; the walls dissolve in the fire of awareness, and responsibility returns.'
