Biblical Context
Acts 9:31 describes the churches resting, being edified, and growing as they walked in reverent awe of the Lord and in the comforting guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that the rest, edification, and multiplication described are not merely external events but states of mind awakening to the I AM. Judaea, Galilee, and Samaria symbolize inner provinces of belief within your own consciousness; to rest there is to cease identifying with lack or struggle and to awaken to a steady, awake attention. The 'fear of the Lord' is the glorious awe of awareness itself—an admission that the sole reality is the I AM, which reorganizes every thought from doubt to trust. The 'comfort of the Holy Ghost' is the felt companionship of inner guidance, the quiet impulse that steadies the mind and soothes the heart. When you dwell in that awareness, your inner edification becomes outward order—thoughts settle, feelings align, and opportunities multiply as a natural outgrowth of a mind at peace. Growth, then, is the result of a single, steady assumption: I am resting in God, and God’s life is my life.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM is your only reality: sit in quiet for 5 minutes and repeat 'I am at rest in God' until rest floods your being. Then envision the Holy Ghost guiding every thought and see your life multiply in harmony.
