Biblical Context

Paul stays in Jerusalem, moving with the believers and boldly declaring the name of Jesus. Opponents among the Grecians threaten his life as he holds his ground.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this passage the boldness of the speaker arises not from outward bravado but from an inward certainty. The mind is Jerusalem: the seat of awareness where you decide who you are and what you stand for. When he speaks boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, the act is not a projection into a dangerous world but a recognition of the I AM within as the source of power. The 'Grecians' are the inner arguments of doubt, and the threatening crowd is the fear of death that would dethrone you from your inner posture. Their 'slaying' is the old image of limitation attempting to override your sense of self as God’s expression. By living from the I AM, you act as Paul—every word you utter in the name of Jesus is the acknowledgment that divine life is your immediate fact. The result is that the outer trial becomes a demonstration of your inner alignment; nothing in appearance can shake the state you have chosen.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and pretend you are already speaking boldly in the name of Jesus within your mind. Feel the I AM within you asserting its authority, and let fear dissolve as you stand firm in your inner Jerusalem.
