Biblical Context
Abraham buys a tomb in Shechem for his family to be buried there, and the narrative shows a lasting place established in a physical site, symbolizing a secure inner resting place.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, dear one, these verses speak not of stones but of states. The tomb Abraham bought is a decision to fix a sanctuary in your mind—a place you already own through I AM. The act of purchase is the choice to stop seeking from without and to affirm inner provision from the source of I AM. Shechem stands at the border of two economies: the old belief in lack and the new conviction that you are eternally supplied. The sons of Emmor are the lingering stories of limitation within your subconscious; Abraham’s payment is the revision of those beliefs into trust. When Acts says they were carried to Shechem and laid in that sepulchre, hear it as your own inward rite: your awareness moves you to a secure chamber of consciousness where fear cannot govern your results. Wealth and care arise not from the market but from the creative act of imagining and consenting. The tomb is your finished state, a fixed place in consciousness where you live as provision, not as seeker. I AM is the ultimate source; dwell there and you shall see the outer world reflect your inner settlement.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and, in present tense, assume you have already purchased your inner tomb—your sanctuary of plenty. Feel the relief and certainty wash through you; say, I am provided for now, and dwell there for a few breaths.
