The Inner Angelic Countenance

Acts 6:12-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Acts 6 in context

Scripture Focus

12And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,
13And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
14For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
15And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
Acts 6:12-15

Biblical Context

Stephen is dragged before the council; false witnesses accuse him of blasphemy against the holy place and the law, while onlookers notice his face shining like an angel. The scene is a clear picture of inner conflict, revealing how inner perceptions shape outer events.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Acts 6:12-15 the outer mob is the storm of thought pressing Stephen, yet the true Stephen-in-us stands calm. The council’s 'false witnesses' mirror unrevised beliefs that condemn us when we dare to dwell in the I AM. The charge that this Jesus would destroy the holy place and change Moses’ law reveals the mind’s fear of transformation; it clings to form while the divine truth in you is already renewing all images. The radiant face like an angel is not proof against the world but proof that the inner state has been settled. You are not the voice of the crowd but the I AM that witnesses the crowd and remains unmoved. When you accept a new assumption—the awareness that you are the power that creates, sustains, and renews—your inner court shifts. The external trial becomes a signal that you are ready to revise your objects of belief. The “presence of God” you seek is the steady, uncondemned awareness within; it shines forth even amid judgment. To embody it is to realize that every accusation is but a mental image that can be displaced by the simplicity of a chosen state of consciousness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine you are the I AM in the inner council. Speak quietly to the mind, 'I AM Presence; I alter the seen by this inner assumption,' and feel that reality settle into your body.
