Read Acts 3 in context

Scripture Focus

1Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
Acts 3:1-10

Biblical Context

Peter and John go up to the temple and encounter a man lame from birth. They give not money but the companionship of a higher reality, and the man rises, walks, and praises God, astounding all who witness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Peter and John are two states of consciousness standing at the gate of your temple, one the I AM that sees and the other the faithful action that acts. When they fasten their eyes and say look on us, they teach you to fix your attention on the end you desire until it becomes your inner fact. The lame man embodies a belief in lack, carried daily by a body-image conditioned to beg; yet the moment of healing comes not from coins or external power but from identifications with a higher truth. The phrase in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the shorthand for the authority of the Christ within you: rise up and walk. The lifting of the right hand represents the alignment where higher truth flows into the body, and strength is released instantly. The people's awe mirrors your own awakening as your inner Lord takes charge. Your healing is now: hold the end in mind, dwell in it with feeling, and the body will follow your inner conviction into fullness.

Practice This Now

Practice now: in a quiet room, close your eyes, place your hands on your chest, and declare that you are whole. See yourself standing and walking in your imagined temple, and feel the lift of vitality filling every part of you.
