Biblical Context
Paul speaks about the kingdom of God to a crowd at his lodging. Some believe, some do not.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the Acts account, the lodging is your inner chamber where you converse with the I AM. Paul’s expounding and testifying are your moments of conscious assertion, where you declare the kingdom of God as a present, inner reality, not a future decree. The law of Moses and the prophets symbolize your established patterns of thought and memory; by calling them together, you bring forth old beliefs and reframe them under the authority of your true nature. From morning until evening speaks of a sustained, disciplined turn of attention toward the inner truth. As you persuade them concerning Jesus, you persuade yourself that the Christ within is your own I AM, your awareness that never leaves. Some believe, some do not—this is the appearance of differing states within your consciousness. Do not fear the not-belief; it reveals what still goes unnamed in your psyche. Your task is to rest in the assumption that the kingdom is already established in you and through you, regardless of outer appearances. When you hold that conviction, the inner and outer events begin to align to reflect your inner state.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare, 'The kingdom of God is within me now.' Breathe into the felt sense of being heard and established in truth for a few minutes, then let this inner state guide your day.
