Paul gathers the chief of the Jews, says he has not harmed the people or their customs, and yet is delivered prisoner to the Romans.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the page, the man Paul is your inner I AM, the 'chief of the Jews' are the old beliefs and commandments you still honor. After a symbolic three days, a period of inner rest, you call these authorities to your inner council. You tell them you have committed nothing against the people or the customs of their fathers—this is your assurance that you keep covenant with your true nature, your immutable law encoded in I AM. The fact he is delivered to the Romans is the outer sign of an inner alignment. You cannot be made prisoner to the outer until you have first acted from a higher state. So the outward event becomes a theater reflecting your inner trust. The 'prisoner' status shows that the state you inhabit is inner, not outer; you are free in spirit even while the stage cosmos performs its drama. The loyalty is not to the crowd but to the inner law; obedience to your own I AM is your true covenant. In this light, every circumstance becomes a feedback of your present assumption. The imagination, rightly directed, is the governor that brings about the accord between inner covenant and outer form.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes. Assume you are the one speaking to the inner authorities, declaring you are free now and faithfully keeping the inner covenant; feel the reality of this state for a few minutes.
