Paul testifies that with God's help he continues witnessing to all. He affirms that Christ would suffer, rise, and bring light to all.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the verse speaks not of an event outside you, but of the inner drama of consciousness. 'Having therefore obtained help of God' means you have access to the I AM, the constant support within. When I say 'I continue unto this day, witnessing to small and great,' I am telling you that you persistently attend to your inner state, testifying to every degree of consciousness—no matter how minute or grand. The clause about the prophets and Moses is a discipline: declare only what the inner law has already foretold in your heart, not the flux of appearances. 'That Christ should suffer' is the surrender of worn-out concepts; 'that he should be the first that should rise from the dead' proclaims a renovation of life, a birth of inner light. And 'he should shine light unto the people, and to the Gentiles' is the radiance poured forth from the crown of your awareness to all aspects of your being and beyond. Thus, the inner witness writes the script of reality, and the world simply reflects it. Your task is to dwell in the conviction of the end—the light you are—and let it illuminate.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the end: that God's help is already present as your I AM. Feel the rising Christ-light within you and witness to small and great from this assured state.
