Be of Good Cheer Within

Acts 23:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Acts 23 in context

Scripture Focus

10And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.
11And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
Acts 23:10-11

Biblical Context

Paul is surrounded by uproar, yet the Presence within assures that his witness will extend beyond Jerusalem to Rome. The outer scene mirrors an inner process: fear gives way to confident, mission-ready consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Note that what troubles Paul in the text is not a chance attack but your own mind reacting to a sense of threat. The 'chief captain' represents the part of you that clings to safety by force, the belief that you must be protected from disturbance. The 'castle' is the boundary of your current state of consciousness. In truth, the Lord standing by Paul is the living I AM—your awareness itself—never displaced, always present. When the command, 'Be of good cheer,' comes, it is an invitation to trust, to let your inner vision affirm: I am safe; I am able to bear witness wherever I am. The promised Rome is not a city in space but the broader sphere of your consciousness that will be shaped by your testimony of truth. So the outer chaos becomes a schoolroom where your inner voice learns to witness the divine through every action. By choosing to feel this Presence now, you align with the cause (the I AM) and realize endurance as a joyful function of your nature.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, breathe, and declare 'I AM' until you feel the steadiness. Then revise the scene to see yourself bearing witness toward Rome, unshaken by dissension.
