Scripture Focus

9And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
Acts 22:9

Biblical Context

Those with me saw a brilliant light and grew afraid, but they did not hear the voice that spoke to me. The verse marks the difference between external signs and the inner communication addressed to the individual.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this moment, the light they saw is a state of heightened awareness within your own mind, a flash of revelation. The fear shows residual belief in separation from the divine. The voice that spoke to me represents the intimate instruction of the I AM within you, which others do not hear because they remain identified with their familiar self. When you assume the role of the speaker and feel that the I AM is addressing you, you begin to hear with your inner ear; external signs become guidance only when you are aligned in the same state. People around you may witness illumination, but their hearing depends on their state. Your practice is to revise yourself into the caller, the one spoken to, by affirming that you are the I AM hearing and obeying that inner voice. Persistently affirming 'I am the voice within' dissolves the distance between light and voice, making salvation, grace, and the presence of God your immediate experience.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and breathe into your heart, imagining a bright light turning into a spoken address saying 'You are I AM'; then repeat 'I am hearing the voice within' until the sense of separation dissolves.
