Born Free, Not Bought
Acts 22:28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
The chief captain boasts that freedom was purchased with a great sum. Paul replies that he was free by birth.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this scene the captain's boast of money is the outer economics of freedom, a belief that liberty can be bought. Paul’s simple reply—born free—calls you back to the inner estate, the I AM that you are before any price is paid. The world measures by contracts and coins; the inner self measures by consciousness. When you recognize you are free-born, you cease arguing with circumstance and begin aligning with the being you truly are. The law, as you once worshiped it, becomes a play of appearances, and righteousness flows from a consciousness that is already whole. Deliverance is not an event in time but a state of awareness you assume and remain in. Imago Dei is your constant, breathing identity—the never-binding, ever-present Self. As you dwell in 'I am free,' the imaginary chain dissolves and the world must yield to your inner liberty. Your freedom is not earned; it is revealed when you awaken to the I AM that was never bought.
Practice This Now
Assume you are free-born now. Revise the self to affirm, 'I am the I AM, free, and nothing outside me defines my liberty.' Feel it real by imagining walking through a crowd with a radiant inner banner of freedom.
