Biblical Context
Peter notes David is dead and buried, yet he prophesied a coming resurrection—the Christ would rise to reign. God raised Jesus, and we are witnesses.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville's inner-eye reading, David represents a state of consciousness that once believed itself fixed to the tomb of the past. The sepulchre is any memory that makes you think you end at a certain point. The prophecy speaks of the fruit of his loins—the Christ within—rising to sit on the throne of your awareness. When the verse says that Christ would not be left in hell and that flesh would not see corruption, Neville interprets it as the soul not remaining in dream-state bondage, nor clinging to the old self-image. The resurrection of Jesus becomes a symbol for your own inner awakening: the I AM in you awakens to reign over every thought that says 'this is all there is.' This is not a future event but a present shift of your inner weather. You and the witness know it in the moment: the inner king sits on the throne, and the house is made anew by the power of awareness. Being witnesses means you acknowledge that your life is the expression of this rising Christ, here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes for a few minutes and assume the risen Christ sits within you; repeat 'I AM the resurrection and the life now' and feel the inner throne reign over your thoughts.
