Biblical Context

The passage proclaims that Jesus, approved by God through miracles, was handed over by foreknowledge and crucified by wicked hands. God raised him, loosed the pains of death, for death could not hold him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this scene the outer story is a mirror of your inner life. Jesus of Nazareth represents the I AM within you, the God-given man who acts through miracles of perception when you consent to it. The delivery by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God becomes your inner decree: you have chosen the truth of your own divinity, and thus the old self is crucified by the beliefs you release. The crucifixion is not a punishment but a trimming away of opinion that death is real. When God raises up the Christ in you, the pains of death are loosed: you discover that your awareness was never bound by appearances. It was not possible that the I AM should be held by limitation; therefore your present consciousness can affirm victory over lack, fear, and time. This is the inward resurrection: a felt shift in awareness that makes the outer world bend as your inner state accepts it. You are the risen one now, here, in your own life.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare I AM risen in me now; feel the freedom as if the new state already exists. Revise any memory of lack by picturing a scene where the inner light renews every circumstance and dwell there for a few minutes.
