Inner Baptism: Holy Presence
Acts 19:2-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul asks whether they had received the Holy Spirit after believing; they answer they had not heard of the Holy Ghost. Upon hearing about Christ Jesus, they are baptized in His name, and when Paul lays hands on them, the Holy Spirit comes, and they speak in tongues and prophesy.
Neville's Inner Vision
Observe the inner drama: belief here is a decision to turn attention to the I AM within. John's baptism points outward to repentance; Paul invites a higher recognition: believe in him who would come after, Christ Jesus—the Christ within. When they hear this, the symbol shifts from external rite to an inner state, and they are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus—an inner washing of consciousness, not a literal pool. And when Paul lays hands, the Holy Ghost comes on them—an awakening of your own I AM, a vibrational surge that enables tongues and prophecy. In Neville's terms, the Holy Spirit is not a stranger arriving from outside, but the living awareness that you are now fully present to your divine nature. The lesson is clear: revise your belief from John's baptism to Christ within, and the outward signs—speech, inspiration, action—flow as natural expressions of your inner state.
Practice This Now
Assume you have already received the Holy Spirit. Rest in the I AM within and feel the inner energy rise, letting speech and deeds flow as Spirit-led.
