Biblical Context
A group of vagabond exorcists attempt to cast out demons by invoking Jesus' name, but they rely on borrowed authority rather than inner knowing; the passage illustrates that true power originates from within, not from a borrowed ritual.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice how they speak the name of Jesus as if a talisman, yet the power to cast out is not in the word but in the state of consciousness behind it. The vagabond exorcists embody a mind that borrows authority from another's faith, instead of discovering it within. In Neville’s terms, the 'name' is only a symbol of an inner agreement: I AM the power here and now. If your inner stance is borrowed, you remain under fear and limitation; the moment you own the I AM, a shift occurs and you are no longer ruled by appearances. The true 'Paul' in you is your own consistent imagination—the Christ that recognizes sovereignty. When you declare 'I am' and intend it, you reverse the scene: fear dissolves, and conditions align with the new state you have assumed. Therefore, no external rite is needed; you are the authority you seek.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare in the present tense, 'I am the I AM power now.' If fear or doubt surfaces, revise it: 'I have always known this power within me.' Then breathe and rest in the felt sense of sovereignty, letting the new state settle in your chest for a few minutes.
