Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Peter declares that God chose that the Gentiles hear the gospel and believe, and that God knows hearts by giving the Holy Spirit. He asserts there is no difference between us and them, purified by faith, and that salvation comes by grace.
Neville's Inner Vision
Inside the inner courtroom of your mind there has been much disputing about who belongs in the gospel. Peter, the awakened state within you, rises to remind you that God chose that the Gentiles should hear the word and believe through your own mouth of expression. God, who knows hearts, bears witness by pouring out the Holy Spirit, just as He did for you, a sign that purification comes by faith rather than by works. The impulse to place a yoke on others--an image of limitation--arises as fear, trying to shrink your consciousness. But the Christ within declares that you are saved by grace through the Lord Jesus Christ, and this grace applies to every aspect of your being. There is no difference in God's sight between self and other; all are unified in the one Spirit when faith is consciously held. When you grasp this, you release the inner decree of separation and enter the living presence of God here and now, where every heart is known and welcomed by grace.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume for a moment that you are already united with God by grace; in that feeling, declare 'There is no difference between me and my brothers and sisters', and feel the Holy Spirit flowing through your heart now.
