Acts 15:7

Biblical Context

Peter proclaims that God chose among the disciples that the Gentiles would hear the gospel through his preaching and believe.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this moment you are not listening to a history lesson but to the inner economy of your own mind. 'God made choice among us' is not God picking others; it is your I AM selecting a channel through which life becomes audible. The 'Gentiles' are any who stand outside your familiar beliefs, and 'by my mouth' is your spoken word and your imagination made visible in form. The disputing is the restless ego arguing against the new state; Peter's rising up is the rising of your higher self, the creative power you possess, the inner decree that what you imagine you can declare as true in external life. When they hear the 'word of the gospel' and 'believe,' that is not an event in time but the inner conviction taking form in your world. Your whole life becomes the audience for the gospel you have already assumed inwardly. Therefore, the act of speaking, of asserting belief, is the mechanism by which inner reality comes forth as outward experience. You are the mouth through which God speaks; your belief prints itself on others who hear your words and respond.

Practice This Now

Assume today that you are the chosen mouth of God; speak a simple line to someone you meet, and feel the word already believed by them as you imagine their inner assent. Do this for five minutes, and notice how your inner conviction alters your outer atmosphere.
