Read Acts 14 in context

Scripture Focus

19And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
Acts 14:19-20

Biblical Context

Some Jews stone Paul and think he’s dead. The disciples stand around him, he rises, and he moves on with Barnabas to Derbe.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Acts 14:19-20 as your inner theatre. The stones are misqualified beliefs pressing against your sense of self. The crowd's verdict—dead—belongs to the old state of consciousness, not to you who are the I AM. When 'he rose up' occurs, it is the conscious recognition that the I AM cannot be killed by appearances. The standing around him by the disciples is the circle of inspirited thoughts and feelings that surround a dying belief, ready to breathe life into it again. His departure to Derbe the next day is the momentum of that new creation moving into unknown territory within you. Barnabas stands for faith, companionship of the inner mind that keeps you moving when outer conditions seem to penalize you. Each stone invites a revision: declare that you are alive, you never truly die, and you choose the next journey from inner certainty. Imagination creates reality; feel it real now as you rise and walk back into your own city of life.

Practice This Now

Practice: In a quiet moment, declare 'I AM the living I,' and revise the belief of death into life. Then visualize the crowd around you, and feel yourself rising, ready to move into a new field of consciousness today.
