Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Two sentences: In the past, God allowed nations to wander in their own ways. Yet He did not leave Himself without witness; He did good and provided rain, fruitful seasons, and hearts filled with food and gladness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of God not as a distant decree but as the I AM within you, the enduring witness that remains when the mind runs along its own roads. The 'times past' are the days you spent in separation, the states of drift and desire that seemed to set conditions. Yet the verse insists He did not leave Himself without witness: the inner rain and the fruitful seasons are your own inner provisions, the subtle nudges and inspirations that soften the soil of your thoughts and bring forth nourishment. When you feel confusion or lack, remember that Providence is not outside you judging your deeds; it is the living you, the consciousness that experiences as aware presence. The rain, the seasons, the heart filled with food and gladness are signs that your inner weather is governed by the witness within, not by external events. By assuming that you are the I AM, you invite the same gracious weather into your life: thoughts settle, desires align, and joy rises as if the heart had eaten and danced.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the I AM within you is the unbroken witness. Close your eyes, feel a rain shower upon your inner garden, and softly revise: 'I am nourished by Providence; my seasons yield food and gladness.'
