Biblical Context
Peter recalls that Jesus spoke of two baptisms: John baptized with water, but believers would be baptized with the Holy Ghost. The verse highlights the shift from outward ritual to an inward immersion of Spirit.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember the word of the Lord as a living invitation to my consciousness: water baptism is an outer symbol, but I shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost—now. John indeed baptized with water; ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, means the Spirit's immersion occurs in the atmosphere of my awareness, not merely in a ritual. The act of baptism is the shifting of my inner state from sense of separation to the realization of I AM as all. When I accept this inner baptism, faith is not a distant hope but a felt certainty—the presence of God I’ve always known in silence becomes audible in my thoughts, actions, and outcomes. The Holy Ghost floods my imagination, turning memories into demonstrations and fear into trust. I am the witness of this awakening; reality rearranges itself to match the state of consciousness I dwell in. Thus Acts 11:16 becomes a promise fulfilled within, rather than a command from without.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, affirm, 'I am baptized in the Holy Spirit now,' and imagine a warm, radiant stream of light entering your chest, expanding through your entire body until you feel the presence of God as your own awareness.
