Biblical Context
God sent a message of peace through Jesus Christ to Israel, announcing that He is Lord of all; Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power and went about doing good, healing all who were oppressed, for God was with him.
Neville's Inner Vision
I see the verse as a declaration of your own inner state: the Word of God comes to you as a present consciousness of peace, through Jesus the Christ within. Jesus’ anointing with the Holy Ghost and power is the inflow of divine self-awareness—the feeling that God is present now, governing your affairs. The acts of healing and doing good are not distant deeds but the natural forum of your mind when you stand in the truth that God is with you. The “oppressed of the devil” are the fears, doubts, and limiting beliefs that fall before the light of this Spirit; as you let the presence saturate your being, these oppressions dissolve. The phrase “Lord of all” reminds you there is one sovereignty in your consciousness, and that sovereignty is your I AM, your abiding awareness. When you dwell in this Word, peace permeates every thought, every situation, and any claim of lack or disease is revealed as a misreading of reality. God’s power is not elsewhere; it is your own awareness appearing as life.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume: I am the Word sent to this moment; peace flows through me now; I am anointed with Spirit and power to heal and do good.
