Read 3 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

6Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:
3 John 1:6

Biblical Context

The verse commends those who testify to your charity and says that sending them forward in a godly manner will be to your benefit.

Neville's Inner Vision

Charity, in this measure, is not an outward donation alone but a state of awareness. The 'witnesses' who speak of thy charity are not merely people; they are the inner dispositions of your own heart testifying to love's presence. When you bring them forward on their journey after a godly sort, you are choosing to act from the consciousness that already supplies their needs. The 'church' before which they bear witness is the temple of your own mind; to do well is to align with the assumption that your giving and encouragement are already accomplished, that the journey you sponsor is a visible form of your inner charity made real. Practice image-making: see the traveler as an image of mercy, know that your support flows from your I AM, not from scarce outer sources. Your wealth is the fullness of God within you; the act of sending them forth is a revision of lack into abundance, a clearing of belief so that charity stands as fact, not hope.

Practice This Now

Assume the giver role now: imagine presenting the traveler with what they need, and feel the relief as if it has already happened. See and feel the required kindness as a finished fact, and bless the traveler as you release them.
