Inner Testimony Walks Truth

3 John 1:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 3 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

3For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
3 John 1:3

Biblical Context

John rejoices when the brethren testify that the truth is in thee. This inner truth is evidenced by how thou walkest in the truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Imagine: the 'brethren' are your own inner voices—aspects of consciousness that testify to what you have assumed. The truth that is in thee is not a future condition but a present state of awareness. When you are aware that you walk in truth, you need not seek external proofs; the moment you acknowledge your state, the inner witnesses cheer, and the outer appearances begin to align. The word 'rejoiced' is the feeling-tone of realizing your assumption is already proven in your experience. To 'walkest in the truth' means living from the I AM that you are, letting obedience, faithfulness, and holiness proceed from that center rather than from fear or lack. The inner truth remains constant even when appearances waver; your task is to stay with that truth until the outer world simply reflects it back as testimony. In short, the story is about the inner agreement between who you are and what you live as; the joy is the natural fruit of living from the truth you know you are.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit in stillness and assume you are already walking in truth; feel the inner witnesses applauding as your consciousness stands firm in the I AM. Let that feeling color your next action so your day 'tests' reflect the testimony you hold.
