3 John 1:13-14 - Face To Face

3 John 1:13-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 3 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

13I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee:
14But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.
3 John 1:13-14

Biblical Context

John writes that he has much to say but will speak face to face soon, offering peace and greetings from friends.

Neville's Inner Vision

The ink and pen are but symbols for outward, linear thought. The true exchange occurs within a state of consciousness where you and your 'friend' meet in the I AM. When he longs to see thee face to face, he signals that the entire encounter is an inner revision: you are already present with them in your awareness, and the outward text is merely a reminder of that inner unity. 'Peace be to thee' is the tone of your inner atmosphere when you align with the unity of all life; 'our friends salute thee' points to the inner company of powers—love, harmony, truth, faith—rising to acknowledge your awakened self. 'Greet the friends by name' invites you to name and honor your own faculties by their true titles: courage, patience, compassion, joy. The promise to see thee shortly is the assurance that a realization is near; you need not seek them outside, for imagination creates reality. By dwelling in this inner meeting, you bring the outer world into harmony with your inner state, here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, imagine you are seated with your friend in a familiar room, and greet them by name while feeling the peace of their presence as if it is already real.
