Before God And Christ Within

2 Timothy 4:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Timothy 4 in context

Scripture Focus

1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Timothy 4:1

Biblical Context

It places Timothy under the authority of God and Christ, who will judge the living and the dead when he appears and establishes his kingdom.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your Bible does not point to an external courtroom, but to the state of your own consciousness. 'I charge thee' becomes an inner injunction: awaken to the fact that the I AM is present as judge and governor of every moment. The 'God' before whom you stand is not an isolated throne but the awareness you are. The 'Lord Jesus Christ' is your lively awareness that judges the contents of your mind—the thoughts, fears, and desires that claim to be real. 'Who shall judge the quick and the dead' translates to: your inner quickening of life and the dead habits of feeling that would deny your aliveness are under this judgment. At his appearing and his kingdom refers to the moment consciousness appears as you, and the reign of that awareness over your experiences. So the law of your life is not punishment but alignment: when you accept that you are the I AM, the inner court is clear, and your world answers in harmony with your renewed state.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume you are the I AM, judging every thought as it arises. Revise one fear into faith and feel the kingdom within already appearing.
