Biblical Context
Paul urges Timothy not to be ashamed of the gospel or his imprisonment, but to share in its afflictions through God's power. He declares that salvation and the holy calling come by grace, revealed in Christ and now made manifest.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the chapter is an invitation to live from the I AM within. The 'testimony of our Lord' is your inner witness; the 'prisoner' is the old self clinging to fear. The power of God is not distant but the I AM within you, turning trials into proof of truth. When you refuse shame, you align with a holy calling given in grace, prior to time, now seen as life and immortality illuminated by the gospel. I have been appointed a preacher and teacher, and so have you, to express this inner reality in daily life. Your afflictions are invitations to prove the keeping power of the I AM, the One who preserves what you commit to Him until that day. Trust that the divine mind can never fail, and that belief sets in motion the very awakening you seek—life in God, now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume you are already kept by the I AM. Declare, 'I am kept by the I AM and empowered to live the gospel now,' and feel that assurance filling your being.
