Stirring Your Inner Gift Within
2 Timothy 1:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Timothy 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Timothy is urged to rekindle the inner gift God has placed in him. The verse points to grace, salvation, and faith as already within, waiting to be stirred.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the gift as a state of consciousness, not a future possession. The 'gift of God' within you is your dormant faculty of faith, grace, and salvation—an inner power awaiting your recognition. The laying on of hands is symbolic, a suggestion that awakens your awareness to what you already are. When Paul says 'stir up the gift,' he invites you to repeat a deliberate assumption until it becomes your felt reality. Imagination is your creative instrument; by dwelling in the feeling and the assumption that you possess the gift here and now, you bring it into your experience. Grace is not a distant favor but the activity of your I AM presence moving within you, drawing you toward the redemption you already own. Your task is not to seek but to awaken, to keep faith steady and to trust your inner authority. In this inner act, salvation is realized as a present state of consciousness manifested in outward life.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, rest a hand on your chest, and declare: I AM the gift of God within me; I stir it up now. Then imagine a warm light growing in you, and feel the gift active in your daily acts.
