Inner Faith Passed Down

2 Timothy 1:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Timothy 1 in context

Scripture Focus

5When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
2 Timothy 1:5

Biblical Context

Timothy is reminded of a sincere faith that began with Lois and Eunice. The speaker is persuaded this faith now dwells in Timothy as well.

Neville's Inner Vision

Call to remembrance is not mere reminiscence; it is the moment your awareness decides to wake up to itself. The unfeigned faith in Lois and Eunice is the living state of your own I AM—an inner current that has existed in your consciousness since its first dawn. When Paul says I am persuaded that it is in thee also, Neville would say: you are the memory and the memory is you. Your grandmother and mother symbolize the conditions by which belief was nurtured, but the power lies in your inner I AM, in your ability to assume the stated faith. Do not seek faith outside; recognize that faith is a state of consciousness that can be revived now by an act of assumption. By dwelling in that remembered faith, you infuse the present moment with its certainty, and the outward world will reflect it.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of that faith now. Close your eyes, recall a time you believed the best for someone, and, as you breathe, affirm 'I am the faith that endures' until it feels real.
