Neville's Inner Vision
View this as a map of your inner state, not a distant letter. Paul’s will of God and the promise of life in Christ announce a fixed fact in your awareness: you are already living that life when you rest in the I AM. Grace, mercy, and peace are inner dispositions to cultivate: grace as gracious acceptance, mercy as compassionate attention to your wounds, and peace as the quiet that comes when attention rests. The dear Timothy represents your closest self—your inner son who can be shepherded by steadfast love. To Timothy you are invited to echo, 'you are loved, you are safeguarded by God, and Christ Jesus is your inner Lord.' When Paul says he prays night and day, hear the practice of continuous awareness: you are attended by the Father within, and the Christ-anchored life is present as your inner ruler. Your longing to see Timothy is your longing to behold this truth manifest; let that longing, joined with gratitude, fill you with joy. Dwelling in this state makes joy a natural expression, as your outer world mirrors your inner sovereign state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state 'I am grace, I am mercy, I am peace' and feel it as real for 5-10 minutes. Then let that mood color your day, guiding your thoughts, words, and deeds.
