2 Thessalonians 3:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Thessalonians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

3But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
2 Thessalonians 3:3-4

Biblical Context

2 Thessalonians 3:3-4 speaks of the Lord’s faithfulness to establish you and keep you from evil, and of the believers’ confidence in doing what is commanded. In plain terms, it speaks of assurance, obedience, and guidance under Providence.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Neville’s turn, the Lord is not a distant person but your I AM—the steadfast state of awareness that underwrites all you are and do. The verse declares that the I AM shall establish you and keep you from evil, which means your present consciousness can be established in a state where disturbance dissolves and protection flows. When Paul says we have confidence in the Lord toward you, that you both do and will do the things commanded, he is describing the inner certainty that your imaginative acts are already completed in principle. Obedience is not external ritual but alignment with the inner law of feeling and intention; faith is trust in the inner governor who guides your thoughts toward right action. Providence and guidance are your inner atmosphere, not a distant sky. Your future is a natural expression of a mind that remains loyal to this inward establishment. By repeatedly assuming this state, you will find yourself acting from a steadier, protective center, and your fear of evil dissolves as you live from the I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the I AM within you has already established you and keeps you from harm. Feel the calm protection and the inner certainty of the commands you intend to follow.
