The Inner Withholder

2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Thessalonians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2 Thessalonians 2:6-7

Biblical Context

Paul speaks of a restraining power that must prove its time to reveal what is coming. The mystery of lawlessness is already at work, yet the inner state that withholds can be revised into a welcoming timing.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your consciousness the withholder is not a person but your present sense of self. The verse speaks of a force that delays appearance until it aligns with the inner Decider I AM. The mystery of iniquity is the habit of doubt, fear, and false sense of separation that exist as patterns in your mind. These patterns move and seem to restrain, yet they are only movements of your own attention. The one who letteth and the one who letteth go are the same you, choosing to dwell in a future outcome rather than the end already present as you. When you switch your attention from lack to the assumed reality of your desire, the old pattern loses its grip; the perfect timing is simply your revised state becoming your present experience. Providence and guidance are the inner nudges that tell you, persist and name yourself as the state that reveals itself. You are the I AM, the awareness that can attend to a new image until it hardens into fact. The apparent external events merely reflect your inner act of consciousness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Close your eyes and assume the fulfilled state as already present. Feel that reality until it remains with you into your next moment.
