Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul cautions not to be shaken by any claim that the Day of Christ is near; that day will not come until a falling away occurs and the man of sin is revealed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Begin with the simple premise that the verse is not about distant events but about the state of your consciousness. 'Be not soon shaken in mind' is a directive to guard your inner atmosphere: the day of Christ is not pending in time but present in awareness. The 'falling away' signifies the ego’s drift from realizing your true self; the 'man of sin' and 'son of perdition' are the counterfeit images you have been entertaining as reality—the sense of separation from the one Life. Therefore, whenever you feel troubled by claims of an imminent end, you are being asked to return to the I AM that indwells you, to withdraw belief from the outer story, and to let your inner Christ speak. In Neville's terms, the world of appearances yields to imagination; the Father’s kingdom is within, and your consciousness is the day that Christ represents. Do not seek to fix external signs; revise the belief that you are apart from God, and feel the truth of your unity.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and declare, 'The Day of Christ is at hand within me now.' Hold the felt sense of timeless awareness for a minute, letting it displace every anxious thought.
