Inner Calling, Glory Within
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Thessalonians 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul prays you are counted worthy of the calling and empowered by faith and grace. The result is the glorification of the Lord in you and you in him.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice how the verse speaks of counting you worthy and the work of faith with power, not as distant events but as states of consciousness you choose to inhabit. In Neville's method, God is the I AM within you, the awareness that performs the calling. When you affirm that you are already worthy, you are aligning with the inner urge of your own spirit, not begging for favors from without. The good pleasure of His goodness is your own delight in what you accept as real in your inner world; the work of faith becomes a deed of imagination lived as present experience, infused with power as you dwell in that conviction. As you imagine this, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is glorified in you, meaning the Christ within awakens to act through your choices, your perceptions, your voice, your daily acts. You and he are bound by grace, which is the ongoing recognition of your true Being. When you inhabit this truth, every event in your life reflects this inner glory and you find yourself in harmonious relation with the divine.
Practice This Now
Sit in quiet and revise: I am worthy of my calling. The work of faith with power is now fulfilled in me; feel it as real.
