The Inner King's Grant
2 Samuel 9:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David proclaims that he has given all that belonged to Saul and his house to Saul's son.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the verse, the king is not a person but the I AM of your consciousness, the awareness that can allocate its possessions. Ziba, the servant, stands for the channels through which you address your inner memory and habit; the proclamation of giving everything that pertained to Saul and his house is the decision of the present self to release the old identity. Saul’s house represents the old line of thoughts, memories, and conditions you once clung to. By declaring that all of it is given to the king's son—the new self—you enact a psychological relocation: you transfer your assets from the worn identity to the aspiring state of grace. This is not about external power but inner order: the kingdom is re-ordered so the present state owns and uses everything previously tied to the old self. Expect no outward drama; the shift happens in the posture of mind. The I AM now recognizes the grace and takes full possession, enabling a fresh act of generosity toward your future self.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the posture of the inner king. Say to your silence, 'I have given all that pertained to my old self to my new self and I dwell in grace.' Feel the reality of that decree as you would the sunrise.
