Inner Restoration at David's Table
2 Samuel 9:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David fetches Mephibosheth from Lodebar and promises kindness. He restores the land and invites him to eat at the king's table.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the chamber of your own consciousness, David represents the I AM, the sovereign awareness that never abandons its covenant. Mephibosheth is the crippled self, hiding in the land of Lodebar—the forgotten, fearful aspects of you unrecognized as worthy of inheritance. When David calls, your inner king fetches the wounded part from out of isolation and presents him to the throne of your attention. The promise—kindness for Jonathan’s sake—speaks of a covenant loyalty that runs beyond personal merit: your remembrance of your higher self and the lineage of promise you share with it. What is restored is not merely property but the ability to stand in your full estate: the land of Saul, your faculties, your opportunities, returned to kingly use. And the invitation to eat bread at the king’s table continually is not a ritual but a decisive shift in consciousness: you are nourished by awareness itself, daily, without lack; fear dissolves into trust as you know you are seen, supported, and provided for. The Kingdom of God becomes a present arrangement of intention and mercy, enacted in you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and picture the I AM David calling your name, lifting you from Lodebar, and seating you at a banquet of limitless supply. Feel the fear fade as you hear, 'Fear not,' and feast at your table of abundance.
