2 Samuel 9:5

Biblical Context

David commands the return of a marginalized man from Lo-Debar, illustrating royal mercy extended to the neglected.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the scriptural scene you are the I AM, the king of your own inner kingdom. David is the victorious, benevolent awareness that calls forth every facet of self into unity. Lo-Debar - the dry place of neglect - represents a portion of consciousness that has been kept out of sight, a part of you that has believed itself unworthy or unseen. Mephibosheth is that neglected seed, crippled by fear or memory, whose return to the king's house signals the return of life, covenant, and favor. When David sends and fetches him, consciousness declares, "No part of you is beyond my reach; no region of your experience is outside the covenant." The act is not historical but your inner act: favor is restored, grace is extended, and the entire inner kingdom is made ready for togetherness at the king's table. If you feel separation or limitation, imagine the king's herald entering the inner house of Machir, inviting the forgotten self back into wholeness, until awareness itself feels crowned and complete.

Practice This Now

Sit in stillness and assume the king's authority within you. Call forth the forgotten part from Lo-Debar, envision them entering your awareness and being seated at the king's table, and feel their welcome as your own wholeness.
