Banquet of Grace Within

2 Samuel 9:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Samuel 9 in context

Scripture Focus

10Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
2 Samuel 9:10

Biblical Context

David assigns the labor to his household so that Mephibosheth may be fed. Mephibosheth, the master's son, is invited to eat at the king's table.

Neville's Inner Vision

Let this scene become your inner kingdom map. The land tilled by thy sons and thy servants represents the stream of thoughts and feelings you cultivate with attention. As the I AM, you oversee these thoughts until they yield fruits—your daily perception, your sense of security, your creative outcomes. Mephibosheth, thy master's son, is your inner self—someone deserving nourishment and welcome, even when memory has wounded him. The master’s table is the inner seat of grace, where you eat because you are recognized as belonging, not because you earn it. Ziba and his many sons and servants are the outer voices—demanding duties and appearances—yet they do not govern the feast. The message is covenant loyalty: when you align with the I AM, you invite your whole being to dine at the table of awareness. Mercy then becomes a present, not a past or future, condition of your state. So revise your sense of self until you feel seated, fed, and embraced by God within you.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of one already seated at the divine table; feel the embrace of grace as your daily food. Revise any sense of lack and declare, I am fed by grace now.
